The Falling Rain

Music – Leon Evans

Lyrics – Leon Evans

Written – 28th July 1998.

This song was written about the times when your alone and you remember times you spent with someone you were close too. All those snapshots that you store in your mind of certain events, the things you said or wished you could have said but never did.

FALLING RAIN

VERSE 1

I saw you across a crowded room,

and I felt the touch of your sweet perfume,

Your smile it touched a part of me I thought I’d lost.

My heartstrings played an old love song,

When we talked of all that’s come and gone,

and we danced the night away arm in arm.

VERSE 2

And now I walk through the fallen leaves,

that lie beneath these old Oak trees,

for a moment there I thought I saw an angel.

But my love for you is still as strong,

as the night we danced till the break of dawn,

but the memories not enough now that your gone.

PRE-CHORUS

A hand of comfort touches this man,

but that caring touch is not enough and he cries…the falling rain.

CHORUS

Do you think of me.. in the falling rain?

Do you shed a tear.. in the falling rain?

Do your thoughts betray you.. in the falling rain?

Is your love still as strong as it was in the falling rain?

VERSE 3

My only friend through these lonely nights,

has been the quiet glow of the pale moonlight,

I look up to its pale white face.

And through the rows of fallen leaves,

my heart it sheds a blood red tear,

and I hear a distant voice cry..”It can’t rain forever!”

MIDDLE 8

I’ll care for you,

till the sands of life get washed away,

by the sea of time.
